How to Update the MX Firmware

1. Download Firmware

1. Download the file from the link that appears above
2. Copy the downloaded file onto a USB thumb drive. What kind?
3. Make sure the file is at the root level on the thumb drive. What is the root?
4. Make sure the file is named update.zip and not update (2).zip (or similar). Why?

2. Back Up User Settings

1. Select "Settings" from the main menu
2. Choose "Firmware"
3. Insert your USB thumb drive into the instrument's USB port. Where?
4. Select "Export"

3. Install Firmware

1. Make sure your USB thumb drive is in the instrument's USB port
2. Select "Upgrade" on the bottom of the screen. What does this do?
3. Progress bars will appear and the instrument will restart. Wait until these things are completed. Why does mine get stuck?

4. Restore User Settings

1. Select "Settings" from the main menu
2. Choose "Firmware"
3. Make sure your USB thumb drive is in the instrument's USB port. Where?
4. Select "Import"
5. Wait for the import to complete
6. Remove your USB thumb drive
